As the (Taoist) saying goes, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready... the teacher will disappear." My encounter with an enigmatic Moroccan Sufi named Zaim A’Zuzu, whose true name I suspect was not revealed to me, serves as a testament to this quote.
After countless failed attempts to gain the trust of Arab scholars and secretive sects, I chanced upon Zaim A’Zuzu in a modest local library. Subsequent evenings were spent within the sanctum of his abode, where we delved into philosophical discourse and the practices that shrouded his existence. In a whispered revelation, Zaim shared with me a hidden text, concealed from prying eyes. We would while away the nights, sipping potent chamomile or mint tea, inhaling the intoxicating tendrils of hashish, as Zaim, in his melodic voice, unraveled the enigmatic Arabic script before me. My insatiable thirst for knowledge prompted ceaseless queries, etching my inquiries upon parchment.
The author of these cryptic texts remains an enigma, thus I christen them as The Grimoire of Zaim A'Zuzu within the pages of this tome. May it serve not as the final word on the matter, but rather as the fertile seed from which greater, more potent minds shall sprout, delving into the mysteries and arcane sorcery that lie within the chilling howl of the desert night.
